About CEREC Single Visit
Get your dental crown in a single visit with CEREC technology at Weston Dental Care. One of the few practices in South Florida with in-house CEREC.
Weston Dental Care is one of the few dental practices in South Florida to have an in house laboratory integrated with CEREC® technology.
CEREC is an advanced dental restorative system. It allows our specialists to create lifelike dental restorations with the highest quality for our patients, and in some cases in just one visit. CEREC technology has revolutionized modern dentistry. Our patients can have complex restorative dental procedures done in three simple steps, sometimes leaving the office with a beautiful new smile in just one visit.
Step 1: Scan
At Weston Dental Care we spare our patients the discomfort of conventional impression trays. We use the CEREC Omnicam, our small powder-free camera, to make precise digital 3D impressions — 3D images with no messy molds or trays.
Step 2: Design
The abutment and crown are designed with the CEREC 3D software which scans a digital picture and converts it into a 3-dimensional virtual model on the computer screen. Our prosthodontists then use their dental expertise to design the restoration using the CEREC 3D computer program. Once the design is complete, within a matter of minutes, your newly designed restoration is sent to production to our in-house milling machine!
Step 3: Production and Placement
A ceramic block that matches your tooth shade is placed in the milling machine. A short time later, your all-ceramic, tooth-colored restoration is finished and ready to bond in place. Milling/grinding the restoration design is an extremely precise process, giving the restoration smooth surfaces and edges and very fine fissures. Finally, your dentist tries the restoration in your mouth to ensure proper fit and bite. The restoration is then polished and bonded to the prepared tooth. Your tooth is restored and for some patients there is no "temporary" or return trip necessary.
This whole process, in many cases, can be done in a single appointment! Customized abutments provide greater clinical safety than standard abutments. In addition, the tooth-colored abutment ensures a natural look. You will leave our office with a new beautiful and healthy smile.
